Silver

I produce limited quantities of handmade jewellery using Sterling Silver and other materials, including Shetland soapstone and serpentine.

The Fair Isle range uses traditional Fair Isle knitting patterns from some of Shetlands finest knitters. Different designs are used and the degree of patination and polishing means that no two pieces are identical. If you order a piece the pattern may vary from the examples shown here but you can be assured that it is an authentic Shetland design. The size shown is the maximum dimension and due to the handmade process each piece may vary slightly in size.
Only small numbers of each item are produced, please check availability with me. Commissioned items can take up to 2 months to be made and hallmarked.

I often make one off pieces of jewelley which do not appear on this website. These are usually published on the Red Houss Shetland Instagram page #redhoussshetland

Much of our silver jewellery has been hallmarked by the Edinburgh Assay Office. Items below 7.78 grams weight are not required to be hallmarked. Hallmarking information.

Jewellery will be sent boxed and can be gift wrapped on request. Insured Postage and packaging will be charged at cost.

Some Red Houss jewellery is also available from:
