I have drawn and painted for as long as I can remember. Any piece of paper was drawn on. My paintings concentrate on landscapes and buildings. I am interested in how the vernacular buildings of Shetland sit into the landscape and reflect the connections with land and sea. I paint from sketches drawn in Shetland and South West Scotland and have also sketched in Egypt, Iran, Morocco, Syria, Spain, Italy and Sweden.
My paintings are mainly watercolours with the addition of mixed media. The works shown here are for sale unless marked as sold. Pictures are mounted in conservation quality off white mounts and are professionally framed. Prices quoted are inclusive of mounting and framing as specified. Postage, packing and insurance are extra and will be charged at cost. Paintings marked as with The Shetland Gallery are for sale there but please contact the gallery to check if a particular painting is still available.
The size shown (width x height) is the image size to the nearest centimetre. Please contact me for information on the frame type and size used on each painting.
I can paint commissions for subjects in Shetland. Past commissions have included family crofthouses and favourite views. Please contact me for further information.
